The Instruments used on the Psalm Music CD:
A combination of stringed instruments like the tambura, guitar and some sitar were the main
feature on the Psalm music project. These three instruments are blended together to create a rich texture. One of the instruments used is a custom "one-of-a-kind" tambura used on the CD. (see a short video of that Tambura)
A prevailing sound on the CD is tabla, but the instrument I played more of was the Djembe.
The Djembe has been easier to transition to from being a drummer for some years, and it's
much easier to carry.
I have played keyboards my whole life. What a great instrument to start learning music on. Keyboards were an important part of this project as they are used for so many
aspects in modern recording, from triggering samples to traditional applications
of keyboards and synthesizers.
The voice is used both in spoken form and in singing form. Scattered throughout the songs
are the occaissional passage of the voice as melodic instrument, with no specific word, but simply a melody to accompany a musical passage.
